A new sergeant. The Frog (Keroro Gunsou/Sgt. Keroro) anime project has been announced. Although the timing is questionable (it's April Fools' Day in Japan), the announcement post's hashtag assures readers that, yes, this is happening.
More details will have to wait, but for now, there's a video promotion commemorating the anime's 20th anniversary. Joji Furuta (director Shaman King 2021 and Shaman King Flowers), who was a storyboard artist and director for several episodes of the original series and its 11th season opening, wrote the storyboards and directed the PV . BN Pictures Film production with the support of Studio Bind.

First Sgt. The Frog anime series debuted in 2004 and ran for 358 episodes over multiple seasons, ending in 2011. 2014 saw the release of the 24-episode series Keroro. Both series are due Sunrise production (currently just a BN Pictures brand), but there are differences in staff. Bridge Provide production support for the previous part, while Gathering provide production support for the latter. In addition to the series, there are also a few anime movies.
Sergeant. Frog is based on the manga by Mine Yoshizaki publishes KADOKAWA, which began in 1999 (after a 1998 manga volume) in Shonen Ace and is still ongoing, with 33 tankoubon volumes as of May 2023. Viz Media describes the first volume as:
