After last week's episode, many might have expected this week's episode to delve into Hiro's problems, but once again, it completely ignored the issue. Instead, Negative Positive Angler episode 7 focuses on Fujishiro, which may make many viewers unhappy with the film's pacing. I wonder if the show skipped any important moments for Hiro and chose to let him slowly end up living on the high ground. While this may upset many people, it represents an honest and creative approach.
You never know the people you know. Even if you spend your whole life with someone, you will never understand them very well. And if you are just a little friendly with them, the void regarding them will be much larger. That appears to be the situation the Everymart crew finds itself in. Although they share the same joy of fishing, they seem to know very little about each other. When the girls and Hiro wonder about Fujishiro's past and present, they still cannot find answers.
As their days passed and conversations about Fujishiro continued, the Everymart team began to open up more about themselves. The biggest reveal was that Takaaki used to be the show's host—a fact that everyone found interesting but one that made him proud. However, Hiro did not reveal anything about himself. As the day progressed, he put aside the idea of fishing for bait and instead began trying his luck at bait fishing. However, that proved unsuccessful so he returned to sabiki fishing. With a tender moment, the episode ends as the crew eats together again.
Fishing Corner
Negative Positive Angler episode 7 today returns to sabiki fishing, so let's focus on another type of fishing that is relevant to the plot. But before that, let me say that hearing Kozue compare fishing to gacha shook me to my core. She's not wrong, but that's a statement I never want to hear. Putting aside the thoughts of a nerd when learning an unpleasant truth, have you heard of micro fishing?
When people think about fishing, they always think about big fish. That's pretty much the status quo. But that mindset is a disservice, because paring down your gear and gear opens you up to a world you never even knew existed. Luckily, the popularity of micro fishing and tanago fishing has recently skyrocketed.
In microfishing, you target fish smaller than 6 inches (some say 8 inches) with small hooks (size 12–30). For anglers looking for a challenging venture, microfishing is the place to be. I won't go into too much detail on this as it only pertains to what was shown in Episode 7 of Positively Negative Angler. But fishing for sardines (and any other bait) can be a lot of fun using micro gear. I highly recommend every fisherman to give it a try. However, I should mention that the gear can be a little difficult to find outside of specialty stores like Tenkara Bum or the Art of Micro Fishing. The latter has its own Facebook group and a thriving online community where admins are ready to help you whenever you have any questions.

Negative Positive Angler Volume 7 – General comments
The narration in this episode made me feel like I was watching Yuru Camp, and that's always a good thing. However, it is disappointing that we have not made any major developments so far.
I know that some people take a long time to recover and that may be the purpose of the film. Instead of heart-pounding moments, we're getting a slow burn, in which a character gradually heals different aspects of himself over time. But that approach may discourage many viewers. And for now, all we can do is wait and see.
