Review of episode 5 of Ranma ½ 2024: This episode was hilarious but also had heartfelt moments. Let's see how it goes.
Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 4 Summary
The episode begins with the appearance of a new character, a mysterious martial artist, who we first see defeating a giant wild boar in the countryside. He was looking for Ranma's school but ended up going too far, clearly having trouble finding his way. Meanwhile, Ranma's days at Akane's house were anything but dull. Although they often quarreled with his fiancee, their friendship grew more and more.
At school, Ranma finally meets the newcomer, Hibiki, who has come to challenge him. As it turns out, they were once schoolmates and often sparred, although their final challenge was never completed. Hibiki has a poor sense of direction, often gets lost, and even once wandered around Japan looking for Ranma. During that time, Ranma waited three days before realizing Hibiki was completely off track. To this day, Hibiki still mistakenly believes that Ranma intentionally avoided their fight.
In this episode, Hibiki is determined to work things out with Ranma, although his reasons remain a bit vague. The fight escalates quickly and Akane, initially a bystander, is drawn into the action. This moment highlights Ranma's concern for her, showing that their relationship is slowly moving towards something deeper.
Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 5 Review
Akane's precious hair had been cut and Ranma was clearly disturbed. He didn't think it would come to this, he even tried to calm her down by offering to be beaten. Akane definitely took advantage of this opportunity and slapped Ryoga and Ranma quite hard before leaving everyone confused. A little background information is presented about the importance of her hair. Akane doesn't grow her hair long because she wants to, but because she thinks it will hopefully help her get Doctor Tofu's attention.
Doctor Tofu has a crush on Akane's older sister, Kasumi, who also has a lot of feelings. long hair. Akane thought if she had the same style then she would also have a chance with him. But now that she has a better understanding of how much Doctor Tofu loves Kasumi, she understands that hair won't change his feelings. So, after crying bitterly in front of her lover, she finally got over her emotions and her hair loss. This entire ordeal is witnessed by Ranma, who is also confused about his conflicting emotions.
He wanted to say that Akane actually looked cute with short hair but his tsundere personality didn't allow him to agree with that. Plus, the moment he tried to be nice to Akane, she thought he was doing it out of guilt. So, it's clear that both have feelings but are too blind to understand or confess their feelings to the other.
Most of all, Ryoga's revenge on Ranma is finally unraveled in this episode. Apparently, he followed Ranma to China and faced the same fate of turning into something else after being doused with cold water. This part is especially fun because, in a strange way, Ryoga has become Ranma's love rival.
Review
I absolutely love this series because of how simple yet fun it can be. The characters are likable and the plot isn't too complicated, but what it does deliver is a really good, fun comedy that always works. The romance is also shown very well and it makes you love this couple even more.
