The One Piece manga is taking place in the Elbaf arc and we finally get to meet Prince Loki of Elbaf. He was only mentioned before as someone who wanted to marry Lola, Big Mom's daughter. However, the official character design of the prince of Elbaf bears no resemblance to his previously revealed silhouette.
One of the best things about Elbaf is that it is inspired by the Vikings of Norse Mythology, and Loki is the name of the Trickster God. Over the years, many works of fiction have drawn inspiration from Norse Mythology to create an impressive cast of characters, including Marvel.
Loki is a popular Marvel character, and there's even a show on Disney Plus dedicated to him. In the film, Loki is Variant L1130, the version of Loki imprisoned by the Time Variance Authority (TVA, an organization dedicated to keeping the sacred timeline intact) after he escaped from the Sacred Timeline.
Maybe by luck or Oda's meticulous planning, the character Loki in One Piece also debuted in chapter 1130.
A famous One Piece fan shared on Twitter/X:
“Oda is a master. In the MCU, Loki is variant L1130, the same number as the chapter in which he appeared in One Piece.”
“No one can say Oda didn't do all that on purpose. He's either the most genius, or just the luckiest.”another person added.
“On the one hand, I can't understand Oda doing this on purpose, but on the other hand, this seems too specific to be considered a coincidence. Either way, I'm extremely surprised.”another person expressed.
