Los Angeles-based food truck Okamoto Kitchen has unveiled the first official trailer and voice cast for its upcoming crowdfunded OVA series of the same name. The 10-episode English-dubbed webtoon OVA will premiere for free on YouTube in time for the upcoming US Thanksgiving on November 23, 2023.

The voice cast for the Okamoto Kitchen anime includes:
• Cristina Vee as Haru Umesaki • Allegra Clark as Chef Chizuru • Patrick Seymour as Mickey • Faye Mata as Ling • Kimlinh Tran as Honey
Takuya Saitou (The Fire Hunter character designer), Azusa “ASA” Saito and PN’Kotobukisuzu’ are serving as character designers. Saitou previously designed the food truck mascot Haru-chan, the main character in the OVA series. Mykal Williams and Rafael Hernán are writing the story, and Hidehito Ikumo is composing the series’ music. Music duo Layla Lane will perform the main theme song in episode 0.
Magic Bus was responsible for the layout, main animation, and general animation production of the OVA series. Studio Nine Lives is handling the drawing and animation in between. The visual effects industry is credited with creating the pre-visualization, CGI, and layouts for the series.
Okamoto Kitchen will also be showing at Anime NYC on November 18, 2023 at 2:30pm EST in Conference Room 3 — Room 1E16. The movie’s teaser trailer was also first released last June.

The Kickstarter crowdfunding project for the OVA series raised US$65,614 out of its original US$48,000 goal in March 2018. A total of 725 backers supported the campaign, reaching its goal. spent US$57,000 to create the Japanese dub with English subtitles.
Each episode of the OVA series will be three to five minutes long and will have limited animation. Other stretch goals for the campaign include extending the series to 24 episodes for $98,000, eight- to 10-minute episodes for $149,000, and a fully animated 22-minute OVA for $340,000.
