Official website for Nozomi Ginyoku's television anime I am Behemoth, S-Rank Monster, but mistaken for a Cat, I Live as Elf Girl's Pet (S-Rank Monster no “Behemoth” dakedo, Neko to Machigawarete Elf Musume no Pet Toshite Kurashitemasu) revealed two new cast members, additional staff, and a January premiere in its first full promotional video on Wednesday. The video also reveals and previews the opening theme song “Saijōkyū no Kokoro” (Supreme Heart) performed by Nonoka Ōbuchi, who voices Lily. The opening theme song was composed and arranged by musician Enon Kawatani. Videos have English subtitles that can be turned on.

Tetsuo Hirakawa (Shine on! Bakumatsu Bad Boys, Grimoire of Zero) is directing the anime at Zero-G and Saber Works, Kanichi Katō (The Eminence in Shadow, Those Snow White Notes) is in charge of the scripts and Tomoyuki Abe (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira), animation director of The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) is designing the characters.
Yen Press is releasing both the light novel and manga adaptation in English, and describes the story:
After dying in a fight against evil forces, a knight finds himself reincarnated as one of the world's most powerful monsters: a giant monster! The problem is, he has to grow up before he can really strut his stuff, and a giant baby looks a lot like… a house cat?! And when an elven adventurer decides to take him in, she may need his help as much as he needs hers!
Ginyoku launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become a Novelist) website in August 2017, and the story concluded its fifth season in August 2021. Micro magazine published two compiled volumes printed in 2018. Yen Publishing House published two volumes in English.
Taro Shinonome launched the manga in March 2018 with Yanomitsuki credited along with Shinonome as the original character designer. The manga switched from Young Animal Arashi to Young Animal when Young Animal Arashi ended publication in 2018. Hakusensha published the manga's 11th compiled book volume on March 29. Yen Press published the 10th compiled book volume in English on October 15 .
