Pokémon is still a huge brand on a global scale
First released in the 1990s, Pokémon was one of Nintendo's first video game franchises. It is also known for its extremely long-running animated series, which has made a huge impact on the entire franchise, and most notably for its electric mouse Pikachu as the franchise's mascot. Going up against franchises like Digimon and Yokai Watch, Pokémon was able to outlast and surpass them all. Part of it is the familiarity with anime, which turns various monsters into iconic characters in their own right. Most recently it was “rebooted” via the Pokémon Horizons anime, which finally outgrew longtime anime mainstay Ash Ketchum (better known in Japan as Satoshi).
Fittingly, many companies and restaurants now have official collaborations with Pokémon named after them. In fact, the upcoming Pokémon Pronto pin products aren't even the first such products from the series, which speaks to how popular Pokémon is in Japan, with many different companies using the products. This product is to advertise special items. It is now widely believed that Pokémon has transcended its status as a video game or even an anime franchise, now simply synonymous with aspects of both Japanese pop culture and commerce. Copy.
