Two months before Titanic turns 26 years since its premiere, never-before-seen behind-the-scenes images of the blockbuster Titanic being announced brings back many old memories.
According to New York Post, a fictionalized version of the 1912 sinking of the RMS Titanic, began filming in the summer of 1996. At that time, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were still rising young actors, just 21 and 20 years old. The film, directed by James Cameron, was filmed primarily at Fox Baja Studios, now known as Baja Studios in the town of Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. The studio set is said to have cost up to $40 million.

The film crew recreated the Titanic in real size to make the scene as realistic as possible.
One of the photos that received the most attention was a shot of Leonardo resting in a modern-style puffer jacket against the film’s backdrop. Next to him, Kate seemed to be taking a nap. More than 25 years ago, two Hollywood stars were at the peak of their beauty, their youthful and attractive faces made fans nostalgic and flutter.
In another photo, Leo wears black sunglasses with other actors suspected of direction from Cameron. He was also seen walking with actress Linda Hamilton, his ex-wife Cameron (married 1997-1999), and actor Danny Nucci, who plays Fabrizio.
Kate was photographed wearing an elegant black and white outfit, complete with a wide-brimmed purple hat, while filming the train boarding scene with co-stars Frances Fisher (Ruth DeWitt Bukater), Billy Zane (Cal Hockley) and David Warner (Spicer Lovejoy).

Kate Winslet took a nap with Leonardo DiCaprio during her break.
In addition, behind-the-scenes photos also captured extras, director Cameron, a full-size model of the Titanic and the large, crowded studio scene.
The photos belong to a British collector. He bought them back a few years ago.
“They are amazing photos. They provide a unique behind-the-scenes look at the production of the biggest-grossing film of the 20th century. What’s great about these photos is that they were clearly taken by a members of the group with that person’s own camera. They are not professionally taken photos or used for advertising purposes. They are spontaneous and genuine moments,” auctioneer Andrew Aldridge shared.
