Aniplex Online Fest debuted a new promotional video for the television anime based on Dan Ichikawa’s My New Boss Is Goofy (Atarashii Jōshi wa Do Tennen) manga on Sunday. The video announced information about the anime’s theme song, new cast, and new staff members. premiere on October 7.

The band Fujifabric will perform the opening theme song titled “Planeteria”. The band Lenny code Fiction will perform the ending theme song “Hanataba”(Bouquet).

The humorous workplace story is about a 26-year-old office worker named Kentarō Momose. He recently changed jobs after being harassed by his previous boss. He worries that his new boss will also take advantage of the power harassment to make his life miserable. Momose was trying to hide his nervousness when he first met his new boss Yūsei Hirosaki, however, he was surprised to see that his new boss was such a natural mind that he eliminated all of Momose’s worries.
The anime’s main cast includes:
Noriyuki Abe (Bleach, Ōoku: The Inner Chambers) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures, and Masahiro Yokotani (Beelzebub, The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) is in charge of the film’s script. Takahiro Yasuda (Wolf Girl & Black Prince, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi: Valentine-hen) is the character designer and animation director. Masato Nakayama (Play It Cool, Guys, You and Me.) is in charge of the music, and Jin Aketagawa (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, 86) is the sound director.
The released manga was originally posted on Ichikawa’s Twitter account. The manga began serialization on Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross website in February 2019. Akita Shoten published the manga’s first compilation volume in August 2019 and the second volume in May 2020.
The manga won third place in TSUTAYA’s 2020 Grand Comic Awards Contest. It placed second in AnimeJapan’s poll of the manga readers want to see animated the most also in 2020 and won the took the lead in the 2019 Web Manga General Election.
