Summary
Uraraka’s determination to save Toga sets her apart from the other heroes, as she possesses a level of self-sacrificing heroism that no one else can match. Unlike pragmatic professional heroes who doubt the effectiveness of taking down villains, Uraraka believes in the power of salvation and doesn’t give up on anyone, regardless of their status. Uraraka’s character arc has transformed her into a hero that not only saves civilians but also atone for crimes, making her one of the best heroes in My Hero Academia with a firm belief in the human ability to change.
Warning: Spoiler for My Hero Academia Ch. 395Many My Hero AcademyHis students have proven their mettle as heroes during this final battle with the villains, but none of them can match the level of self-sacrificing heroism that Ochaco Uraraka has displayed in recent chapters. Uraraka’s heroic sensibilities led her to save even her enemies, a feat no other hero can match.
The last few chapters have seen Uraraka do her best to get past Toga, even getting a bloody cut the whole time. However, Uraraka persisted there, focused on his goal of saving Toga from himself. Chapter 395 takes that to an extreme, with her using her powers to gently place heroes on the ground who have been swept up in Uraraka’s Awakening, even while she’s bleeding. That’s when Toga made the bold decision to try to save Uraraka by sharing a drop of her blood… but even with death approaching, Uraraka still managed to stop Toga from sacrificing herself.
Uraraka’s heroes are beyond even the pros
Uraraka’s determination to “save” Toga is something no other hero in the series has, especially among the pros. As adults, professional heroes tend to be much more pragmatic and understand that trying to take down villains won’t work once they’ve been summoned to the scene. However, it also leaves them a bit confused, potentially missing out on situations where it’s actually possible to tell a bad guy what they’ve done. No pro hero in My Hero Academia will ever try what Uraraka did here, and that’s not counting the horrendous stab wound she suffered.
Toga points out in the chapter how odd that makes Uraraka among her teammates, and it’s certainly debatable whether this is a good thing for her physical and mental health. But Uraraka didn’t care about that; instead, she only focuses on the person in trouble in front of her, whether that person is a hero, a commoner, or even a villain. That’s Uraraka’s character arc throughout the manga, after all. Uraraka started wanting to be a rescue hero and save the civilians. Seeing Deku suffer makes Uraraka want to be the hero of the hero, as the hero’s struggle is not appreciated among the general populace.
Now, she also becomes the hero of the evil, redeeming even the things that seemed too far away. That certainly makes Ochaco Uraraka one of the series’ best heroes in terms of sheer heroism, as she accomplished even things that other heroes deemed impossible. No one is too far for Uraraka, and that’s how she earned her place among the best of the best. My Hero Academy.
