The characters in My Hero Academia will pause to save the world and shoot some rounds in this new collaboration.
According to Shonen Jump News, a new issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump has revealed that My Hero Academia will have a special collaboration with the NBA. The news did not reveal any other information other than the fashion-related collaboration. Some fans expressed surprise at the partnership but nonetheless expressed excitement to see more My Hero Academia appear in the real world.
My Hero Academia’s past collaborations
My Hero Academia recently embarked on a partnership with Fortnite where four character skins are made available for players to purchase, including Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Ochaco Uraraka, and All Might. In March 2022, the My Hero Academia characters were reduced to adorable Sanrio characters for the second time after their first collaboration in 2019. The brand has also collaborated with Primitive Skateboards in the past, where fans can ride skateboards with their favorite characters.
Kōhei Horikoshi started My Hero Academia after his previous Barrage series was cancelled. After revising one of his previous one-shots, it became the basis for his most popular manga and one of his all-time best-selling manga series. Mangaka inspired many American superhero movies and comics such as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and X-Men, as well as other manga series such as Dragon Ball and Kamen Rider. The series has recorded over 85 million copies in circulation as of February 2023. My Hero Academia has won several awards, including Best Manga at the 2017 Sugoi Japan Awards and Best Shōnen at the Japan Awards. Expo 2018.
The popularity of manga has spawned an equally popular anime franchise. Directed by Studio Bones, the first season of My Hero Academia aired in April 2016 and has aired one season each year, with Season 6 recently ending with an adaptation of the “Fight for the Liberation of Legends” season. mystery” and “Dark Hero” in March 2023.
