The Haikyu franchise has revealed a series of character images featuring Karasuno and Nekoma High players ahead of the premiere of Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump. The film will be divided into two parts and will be completely adapted from the manga. The first season release date has been set for February 16, 2024. Production IG is active.

Susumu Mitsunaka will also write the script for the movie ‘The Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump’. Takahiro Kishida is responsible for the character designs. Takahiro Chiba was appointed as animation director. Ichiro Tatsuta is the art director. while Mayumi Sato is the color designer.
The film has the same Japanese title as Haikyu!! Gomisuteba no Kessen (Battle of the Trash Can), is the 294th chapter of the manga. It will cover the highly anticipated clash between Karasuno and Nekoma teams. The film will be a direct sequel to the fourth part.

In addition to the final films, Production IG also animated the animated television adaptation of the Haikyu series (stylized as Haikyu!!). The first season aired in 2014, followed by a sequel that began in fall 2015 and ended in winter 2016, after 25 episodes. Part 3, titled Haikyu!! Karasuno High School vs Shiratorizawa Academy had 10 episodes that aired throughout the fall of 2016. Haikyu!! Riku vs Kuu OVA serves as its sequel. The latest part of the anime Haikyuu!! To the Top aired in two timeslots – the first in Winter 2020 and the second in Fall 2020. In addition to the television anime, the series also released many synopses, OVAs, side stories and an omake.
Haikyu is based on the manga by Haruichi Furudate that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The manga ended after 405 chapters, compiled into 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed it in English and describes the plot as:
