Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced a partnership between the Mobile Suit GTA brand and the Formula 1 racing team Scuderia AlphaTauri SpA for this month’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The sponsorship will include decals of the iconic RX-78-2 and the more recent XVX-016 Gundam Aerial from Mobile SuitGundam the Witch from Mercury, which will be applied to the headrests of the Scuderia AlphaTauri alongside AT04s. Racers’ helmets. Additionally, there are plans to install Gundam statues (each nearly 7 feet tall) at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, livery decals for AT04, two GUNDAM BASE POP-UP Stores around the Las Vegas Strip Circuit and Scuderia AlphaTauri – artwork inspired by the RX-78-2 and Scuderia AlphaTauri racer Yuki Tsunoda.
Tsunoda also participates in the collaboration in a more direct way, appearing in the promotional video below wearing an Amuro Ray-inspired racing suit.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Bandai Namco also took this opportunity to release a new Gunpla model, although this model is for display purposes only. Gunpla’s collaboration is a custom RX-78-2 level liberated mobile suit that carries exclusive Scuderia AlphaTauri decals and colors, and it will be on display at temporary stores of the event.
