The publisher calls for submissions of 1-chapter comics by Japanese authors
This year's 47th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine revealed on Monday that it will publish a special edition of the magazine in the US with the working title Young Magazine USA, scheduled for release. published in August 2025, as part of the magazine's 45th anniversary campaign. For the project, the magazine is looking for Japanese manga creators who want their stories published for foreign readers.

American Youth Magazine will collect and publish the first chapter of the manga in August 2025. After that, the magazine will hold readers' votes, and the five most popular manga stories will be guaranteed publication. series, and Kodansha will also publish a manga volume compiled in English. The application and story deadline will be January 20, 2025.
With the project, the Tre Magazine Editorial Board also aims to expand abroad and is looking for applications in the following genres: science fiction and dark fantasy; horrified; and works depicting identity statuses such as LGBTQ, racial or ethnic groups. Stories from genres other than those specifically mentioned will also be accepted.
The first issue of Weekly Young Magazine was published on June 16, 1980. The magazine has published or is currently serializing manga such as Initial D, MF Ghost, Ghost in the Shell, My Home Hero, Under Ninja, Ya Boy Kongming!, and xxxHOLiC.
The magazine recently launched a new spin-off magazine titled Young Magazine Kakehiki (meaning “bargain”) on April 22.
