Kizumonogatari-Vamp Edition-was previously announced. theatrical version of the Kizumonogatari trilogy, has revealed new visuals ahead of its January 12, 2024 release in Japan. The images have been shared on the PIA website, which will also offer tickets to the screenings. It’s worth noting that the official channels haven’t listed it yet.
The new project will be an edit of the films Tekketsu, Nekketsu and Reiketsu. The films animated by SHAFT are adaptations of the second installment in the Monogatari light novel series. Tatsuya Oishi is in charge of directing and writing the script for the Kizumonogatari-Vamp Edition- project.
The first two films in the Kizumonogatari trilogy were released in 2016, while the third followed in 2017. Akiyuki Shinbo and Oishi co-directed them. Shinbo also wrote the script with Yuki Kizawa and Muneo Nakamoto – SHAFT is also credited for this role.
The Monogatari light novel series is written by Nisi Oisin and illustrated by Vofan. The series began serialization in 2006, and although the volumes cover different seasons, each season’s title ends in -monogatari. Bakemonogatari is a manga adaptation of the light novel, illustrated by Oh! Great. It has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2018.
The franchise received an anime adaptation titled Bakemonogatari by studio SHAFT in the summer of 2009. Nisemonogatari and Nisemonogatari (Black) followed in 2012. The Monogatari Series: Second Season aired in 2013 and includes 6 parts of light novel. The remaining seasons – Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari, Koyomimonogatari, Owarimonogatari II and Zoku Owarimonogatari have also been adapted into anime.
