Takeru Hokazono's Kagurabachi manga has officially surpassed 1 million copies in circulation with the first four volumes, all of which will be republished on November 14. Volume 5 is scheduled for release on December 4, 2024. The manga releases new chapters every five weeks on the official Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps.

The manga recently surpassed 600,000 circulation in August this year for the first three volumes and now this popular manga continues to pave its way to success. Kagurabachi also won the 2024 Next Manga Award in the print category at the end of August, beating out other popular titles such as Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun does Hiroja and Osamu Nishi's Mafia Episode, Tsumiki Ogami and Everyday Strange Life. by Miyu Morishitam and DOGSRED by Satoru Noda.

Kagurabachi is a fighting manga series written and illustrated by Hokazono that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 19, 2023. It received an unprecedented amount of hype when it debuted. and there are now so many fans asking for copies of the series in bookstores in Japan that the official account has to make a statement asked fans to be patient with the reprint of the first volume, which was finally released on February 27, 2024.
Since its debut, Kagurabachi has received three covers and 12 color pages, most recently chapter 53 and a blurb from My Hero AcadeKaren creator Kohei Horikoshi himself. Fans can check out the recent coloring page below (SPOILER ALERT):
Takeru Hokazono's background
Hokazono's success has been quietly building in recent years. In 2020, the author won the 100th Tezuka Manga Award for the short story Enten, which was later published in Jump GIGA magazine in spring 2021 along with their other short stories Farewell! Cherry boy! and then CHAIN in the summer.
Hokazono later published a new one-shot titled Madogiwa de Amu in Weekly Shonen Jump #19 in April 2022 and another, more popular one-shot titled Roku no Meiyaku in Weekly Shonen Jump #35 -36. Now, two years later, Hokazono's hard work has paid off as Kagurabachi makes his grand debut!
Kagurabachi summarizes via MANGA Plus:
Young Chihiro spends his days practicing under the guidance of his famous swordsmith father. One day he hopes to become a great swordsmith. The silly father and the serious son – they thought these days would last forever. But suddenly, tragedy struck. A dark and bloody day. Chihiro and his blade now live only for revenge. Epic fencing action!
Although the Kagurabachi manga had over 1 million copies in circulation in Japan as of October 2024, Volume 1 will be released in English on November 5, 2024.
