Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16 could be one of the best anime episodes of 2023. It features not one, but two of the most hyped fights in the Shibuya Arc.
After exorcising Dagon, Toji forced Megumi to leave his group to fight.
The group that stayed behind were burned by Jogo, who then revived Sukuna after feeding Itadori ten fingers at once. Sukuna then challenged Jogo to a fight.
What volume 16 did differently was that it added more content to these battles, something that wasn’t present in the manga series.
Furthermore, the choreography of these battles is perfect and the hand-to-hand combat between the characters is reminiscent of the battles in “The God of High School”.

Megumi fought Toji without knowing the fact that he was fighting his father. Megumi unleashed almost all of her shinigami to defeat Toji and tried to stealthily kill Toji.
Because Toji is driven by his instincts, he cannot hold back against Megumi. He even stabbed Megumi with Playful Cloud, which he used to kill Dagon.
Suddenly, Toji remembered the time he thought about exchanging Megumi for money for the Zennin clan. This caused him to regain consciousness for a while.
He immediately asked Megumi’s name, who replied with “Fushigoro”. Toji was happy to learn that his son did not join the Zennin clan that treated him like trash.
When he heard the answer, he stuffed the Joyful Cloud into his head and his soul disappeared. Megumi approaches to check on him, but his body has returned to the vessel used to bring Toji back to life.

Sukuna vs Jogo
As Kusakabe prepares to attack Geto’s soldiers, Jogo flies in from nowhere. Sukuna follows him as Jogo tries to hit him.
But when he did so, Sukuna’s cursed technique never allowed him to attack with his flame cursed technique. Jogo remembers when he asked Pseudo-Geto how many of Sukuna’s fingers he was equivalent to.
This was an understatement, as he couldn’t put a finger on Sukuna right now. As this war continues, Kusakabe advises everyone to run away before being crushed in this dispute between special class spirits.
But Sukuna immediately approached them and ordered them to stay, and if they left without his permission, death awaited them.
On top, Jogo was preparing his final cursed technique,”Maximum Meteor”, aimed directly at Sukuna, standing next to Panda and Kusakabe.
Jogo performed his techniques in Sukuna’s direction, and just as it was about to hit the ground, Sukuna allowed Kusakabe and the others to leave.
Sukuna then revealed his other curse technique, similar to Jogo’s flame curse technique. Immediately after they exchanged fire, Jogo was burned to death.
Jogo is later seen in the afterlife with Hanami and Dagon. Sukuna visits him and tells him to be more proud because he is strong. Jogo started crying without knowing what emotion he was feeling.
Animation pinnacle: A fierce battle between Jogo and Sukuna.
