With the release of episode 8 of Jujutsu Kaisen’s S2, we have finally entered the Shibuya district, which is about to witness the worst nightmare on Halloween night.
After Mechamaru’s death in the previous episode, Suguru Geto placed a 400m radius curtain over Shibuya station, preventing all non-witches (simply humans) from escaping. The humans were only informed of one condition: Bring Satoru Gojo.
Carrying out their plan, Suguru Geto and his group of cursed souls lured Satoru Gojo into the barrier, the first part of their plan.
As Gojo made his presence known to everyone inside the barrier, he was greeted by the special level Cursed Spirit Jogo, Hanami, and the Cursed Womb Choso. When the trio tried to provoke Gojo into removing his blindfold, they began to fight.
Although the cursed souls were able to resist Satoru Gojo’s Infinite with a specific technique, Gojo killed Hanami after the latter made a mistake. How did that happen? What did Hanami do that led to its demise? It’s time to find out!

How did Gojo kill Hanami?
The moment Gojo entered the stage, he was greeted by hundreds of people crowding the station. The fight started when he noticed Hanami, Jogo and Choso.
The plan is to hold off Gojo for 20 minutes before Suguru shows up with the Prison Kingdom. They plan to disadvantage Gojo’s fight by using hundreds of helpless humans as obstacles between the two fighting sides. This will greatly limit his fighting opportunities as they will only occur between the strongest wizards.
When Jogo and Hanami attacked Gojo, they were prevented from going further by Limitless but they were prepared.
Suguru Geto taught them how to use it Domain amplificationa technique similar to New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. By expanding their territory, it can negate the sure effects of Range Extension and cancel out Cursed Techniques, even ones like Infinite. This makes Gojo realize that he is vulnerable to their attacks.
After chapter 225, we get a clearer explanation from Kusakabe that Domain Amplification disables a domain by dumping the opponent’s cursed technique into an empty space.
The Cursed Spirits also bet on Gojo not using the Unlimited Void to expand his domain because humans would be crushed between the barrier of the Domain and the Veil. So they knew they actually had a chance to challenge Satoru Gojo.
It was at this moment that Gojo realized the plan and went into serious mode, by removing the blindfold and humiliating the Cursed Souls. He then decides to take down Hanami first since he has the most history with him.
Gojo angrily attacks them without using physical attacks without Limitless and begins attacking Jogo despite claiming to kill Hanami first. This causes Hanami to question Gojo’s motives and as a result decides to activate his own technique to take him down, deeming it a solid strategy.
But this is exactly what Gojo has been waiting for all along.
Domain Amplification and one’s Innate Domain cannot be used simultaneouslythus making a person vulnerable.
Taking advantage, Gojo jumped on top of him and grabbed his horns. Mentioning that it was his weakness, Gojo was forced to pull out his horn, severely weakening him. On the other hand, Jogo only survived because he was using Domain Amplification.
When Choso and Jogo tried to distract him from Hanami, Gojo showed no remorse and pinned Hanami against the wall after activating Limitless again.
Infinity or something else? Clear up misconceptions!
We now know that the Infinite has many forms. And that is the neutral form, the infinite form, which is often misunderstood as a barrier. However, that is not true.
Infinity is like a space around Gojo that he controls to make objects slow down and never reach him. For a detailed explanation, see the article below.

However, that alone is not enough to kill Hanami. Gojo cannot use it to crush someone. Instead, I truly believe he used the Curse Reversal Technique to power up the Infinite and ultimately create the Red effect.
This pushes Hanami into the wall again, because in contrast to Blue, Red has a knockback effect.
If he uses Blue, then Hanami will be pulled towards him. And since that didn’t happen, we can safely rule that out for now. However, it’s also possible that Gojo simply increased his Infinite range, manipulating space to a greater degree.
This can also push Hanami into the wall and crush him. Because no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t reach Gojo.
TLDR; Gojo killed Hanami by increasing his Infinite power and crushing the cursed soul against the wall. Maybe he used Red’s effects.
What a brutal way to destroy a Special level Cursed Soul!
Conclude
Suguru Geto and his Cursed Spirits have devised a complex but effective plan to eliminate the strongest Magician Satoru Gojo. Their plan focuses on distracting Gojo using hundreds of people inside the curtain. Geto mentions in a flashback that Gojo is only at his best when he is alone and that any form of help hinders him. This fact alone gave them some chance of fighting him.
When Gojo used Infinite to avoid attacks from Jogo and Hanami, they used a technique called Domain Amplification to expand the domain and also bypassed the Cursed Technique but at the cost of using the Technique Your own cursed jutsu. This is what causes Gojo to create a strategy to eliminate them.
He started chasing Jogo after claiming to kill Hanami first by neutralizing Limitless but when the latter decided to stab him in the back with their Cursed Technique, Gojo took the opening by grabbing Hanami and Pull out his horn.
When Jogo and Choso tried to distract Gojo from Hanami, Gojo paid them no attention and finished off Hanami by crushing him between Infinite and a wall.
