Exciting news for fans GTO was revealed that the manga GTO: Paradise Lost by Tohru Fujiwara has finally resumed serialization after a year-long hiatus.
According to the announcement in this year's 18th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine, the manga will continue to be serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website with the new title: GTO: Paradise Lost Kai (roughly translated as GTO: Paradise Lost Renewed) starting April 1, 2024.
GTO: Paradise Lost went on hiatus on February 13, 2023 with a promise to return in summer 2023. However, those plans fell through, leading to disappointment for both readers and the author himself.
In September 2023, Fujisawa took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the publisher's decision to shelve the manga indefinitely as he felt that the live-action adaptation was taking priority over the manga. He even hinted at the possibility of finding a new publisher for the series.

Paradise Lost began serialization in the magazine in April 2014. It is a sequel to the main manga Great Teacher Onizuka.
The manga began serialization in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Magazine on April January 14, 2014. The manga has been on hiatus several times; The first season of the series ended in October 2017 and Fujisawa suspended the series citing lack of manpower. In June 2021, Fujisawa announced that GTO: Paradise Lost will be the final manga in the series GTO.
The original manga was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine from January 1997 to February 2002, with the chapters collected into 25 tankobon volumes.
