Game debut on iOS and Android devices in June 2017. The game is free to play but in-game items are available for purchase.
In the game, the player takes on the role of an unnamed former high-level baseball player who lost his baseball career after suffering an unknown injury. The character moves to his grandmother's hometown and enrolls in the local high school, determined never to enter the world of baseball again. When the character meets Tsubasa Arihara, he or she is persuaded to become the manager of the school's baseball team and take the team to the national high school tournament at Koshien.
In the game, players gather team members (there are more than 50 characters in the game) and experience the stories of team members. Players also train members to improve their skills and take members to games to compete. The players must then decide the batting order.
An anime adaptation of the game titled Cinderella Nine premiered in Japan in April 2019. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in 2019. HIDIVE began streaming the series in 2020.
The franchise also has an original live-action series titled Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de. (August for Nights at the Batting Center) premieres in July 2021. Additionally, the series inspired the five-volume Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine S manga.
