Chapter 221, translated by John Wery, features a scene where Hana finally uses her Jacob’s Ladder technique to free Gojo from the prison kingdom Kenjaku has locked him in. However, instead of releasing Gojo to his allies, Kenjaku set up the box to drop Gojo deep below. ocean in a subduction zone, hopefully that will slow him down or kill him. It also allows Kenjaku to be able to kill him before he can meet his allies if the pressure and water fail. Of course, when Kenjaku confronted Gojo, the sorcerer was completely unharmed and immediately attempted to kill the undead villain. However, Sukuna intervened and the two briefly clashed before deciding to postpone their battle for a month in order to fulfill previous commitments and resolve personal issues.
Gojo returns to Jujutsu Kaisen after more than a hundred chapters
Sukuna and Gojo’s battle is sure to be the most epic clash in the series with the power of two participants. Sukuna demonstrated her power in Jujutsu Kaisen with Megumi’s body using the Ten Shadows Technique several chapters ago. On the other hand, Gojo has one of the most powerful Cursed Techniques in the series in his Infinite ability, allowing him to take almost complete control of the space around him. This allows him to protect himself from being hit with Infinity and also allows him to use more powerful Blue and Red attacks, attracting and repelling, respectively. These attacks can then be combined into the Hollow Purple technique, which completely erases any matter it touches. All of this not even mentioning his Domain Expansion, which overloads his enemies’ senses with stimuli that prevent them from fighting back.
All of these describe Gojo’s level of strength before being sealed, but he may be even stronger now. The other time in the prison kingdom, means that Gojo could have used it like one of Dragon Ball’s hyperbolic time chambers, training himself and becoming stronger. Of course, in the month before their battle, Sukuna can gain extra fingers to power up, or use Yorozu’s mysterious gift to give herself an unexpected advantage in the clash. So, by the time the battle happens, surely both Sukuna and Gojo will be the strongest warriors in the manga making their battle an epic clash.
Return of Gojo puts an end to Jujutsu Kaisen
It will be interesting to see how Yuji and his allies react to Gojo’s return. It has the potential to be emotional when he learns about his dead friends or hilarious because of the way he has gently interacted with them in the past. But no matter how their reunion turns out, Gojo’s return marks a major turning point for the series as all of its characters will inevitably have to prepare for Gojo’s climactic battle and Sukuna. But now, Jujutsu Kaisen fans can enjoy the fact that Gojo, one of the most popular characters in the series, is finally back and seems more powerful than ever.
