Anime Girls Band Cry was voted the best original show of Spring 2024, despite not getting much love when it was released in English worldwide. Toei Animation handled the animation, with the show dominating the original category. To be fair, there wasn't much competition, but it still took 30.25% of the vote, with Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night coming in second with 26.92%.

Kazuo Sakai directed the anime, with Kenji Tamai as composer and Nari as character designer. The cast includes Rina as Nina Iseri, Yury as Momoka Kawaragi, Mirei as Subaru Awa, Naruto as Tomo Ebizuka, and Syuri as Rupa.

The main character dropped out of high school in his second year, and aims to enter a university while working alone in Tokyo.
A girl was betrayed by her friends and didn't know what to do.
Another girl is abandoned by her parents and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs.
