Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 has reached its midpoint with episode 6. The episode revolves around Mirika’s plan to make Naoya truly love her and she cleverly executes this plan using the which she considered “barely legal”. Mirika’s involvement is always a wild ride, so here are the highlights from episode 6 of the fall’s strangest anime.
The Girlfriends’Resignations
I’ve always found it difficult to understand the extent to which Mirika is willing to go for love. The final episode shocked us all when she resorted to drugging the entire cast just to have a private moment with Naoya. From there, Mirika gets even crazier as the episode opens with Naoya handcuffed to a tree to definitely prevent his escape. Although I once believed that Naoya’s act of giving Mirika a glimmer of hope was a grave mistake, I now realize that even without that, Mirika’s determination would have trumped all words. refusal that he could think of.
After the usual Girlfriend, Girlfriend shenanigans, such as Mirika handcuffing Naoya to herself and the two falling on top of each other, they finally have an honest conversation about their relationship . It’s clear that Mirika won’t give up on Naoya, so he asks her to live in the same house as Saki, Shino, and Nagisa. Naoya explains that his intention to give Mirika multiple chances to prove herself over the course of a few months may lead him to legitimately reject her. I think many of us may be wondering about the inevitability of Mirika moving into Naoya’s house with the other girls. I can’t say Naoya’s offer caught me off guard.
Mirika accepts this offer, still believing in her ability to make Naoya fall in love. Shino, Saki and Nagisa, after recovering from the effects of the anesthetic, find Naoya and Mirika. As expected, they were not happy about Mirika moving into the house. As if the house wasn’t chaotic enough with the three girls and Naoya, Mirika is sure to make it even more chaotic. While the movie may have been lacking in the animation department, at least I was still involved in the crazy situations that kept popping up throughout the movie.
The second half of Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 will feature Mirika in the family, and from the preview of episode 7, we will see how everyone gets along – I don’t expect much in terms of harmony. Until then, check out my review of the latest episode of The Apothecary Diaries, another series airing this season.
