The official Twitter account for the stage adaptation of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura’s soccer manga, BLUELOCK, has interesting news. They just announced their upcoming second stage play, which will run at Kyoto Theater from January 18-24 and Hulic Hall Tokyo from January 25-31.
This highly anticipated production, BLUELOCK-2nd Stage, created a buzz as its cast and captivating visuals were revealed.

Naohiro Ise, who previously directed the successful first play, will return to direct and write the script for this thrilling sequel. The opening play captivated audiences at Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka from May 4 to 7 and Sunshine Theater in Tokyo from May 11 to 14.
The cast is equally impressive, with notable actors such as Nobunaga Satō playing Meguru Bachira, Shōta Matsuda as Rensuke Kunigami, and Ryō Saeki as Hyoma Chigiri.
For those who haven’t fallen in love with BLUELOCK, Kodansha USA Publishing has you covered. They are releasing the original manga in English digitally and it is also available in print. The manga’s premise focuses on the Japanese national soccer team, which is looking to recover from a devastating loss at the 2018 World Cup.
Their secret to redemption? An excellent striker, a player who always has a desire to score goals and an unquenchable desire to win. To find this special talent, the Japan Football Federation gathered 300 of the nation’s most promising young players. The question remains: who will rise to lead the team and defeat all opponents, both on and off the field?
