Despite their limited roles, characters such as Mimic and Aura continued to perform well, with Aura voice actress Ayana Taketatsu expressing surprise at the rankings. The popularity of the Frieren manga has skyrocketed since the anime debuted. Directed by Keiichiro Saito, with a script by Tomohiro Saito, music by Evan Call and animation by Madhouse, its success helped double the manga's sales. Fans waiting for the anime's return may be in luck as the X account officially teases Frieren's sequel with “The Journey to Ende Continues”.
