Fate/Zero Musical Adaptation – Teaser Poster Visual
Fate/Zero is a prequel to the visual novel Fate/stay night by Type-Moon, telling the story of the fourth Holy Grail War. It is written by Gen Urobuchi with illustrations by Takashi Takeuchi. The novel was adapted into a manga with illustrations by Shinjiro, as well as a 25-episode television anime by ufotable. Both were released in 2011-2012. Urobuchi commented on the Fate/Zero musical adaptation:
“It's great to be able to once again bring a work from a time when I was driven by a different kind of ambition and passion to an audience. I feel like I'm rejuvenated.
Fate/Zero was a major turning point for me, and it's no exaggeration to say that Gen Urobuchi exists today thanks to this work. The anticipation of seeing it take on a new form in the Reiwa era makes my heart race.”
Hideyuki Nishimori is best known as the director of the musical Moriarty: The Patriot. He also commented on the Fate/Zero project:
“Fate/Zero is a legendary work. It is a masterpiece that will likely be considered a classic even hundreds of years later.
Gen Urobuchi's profound writing, considered by many to be genius, is truly 'literary' in the deepest sense.
The dramatic person depicted is as intense as the drama in the works of Shakespeare or Chikamatsu Monzaemon.
To transform Fate/Zero into a musical is to explore themes such as'What is Justice?','What is a King?,''The Silence of God' and 'The Salvation of the World'. These themes, woven by characters such as Kiritsugu, Saber and those who lived through the Holy Grail War, will be transformed into melodies and songs, reflecting in harmony the state of our world. living.
If we want to portray a work that is considered legendary, we must respond with a legendary stage. With a talented cast and knowledgeable staff, our goal is to create a groundbreaking musical that transcends genre boundaries. I intend to put everything I have into this challenge, right here and now.”
