Strange, supernatural events continuously happen around Kanna. Today, once again, she opened the door to the library preparation room, seeking help from the gruff Chuzenji-sensei waiting inside.
Aki Shimizu began drawing the manga in October 2019 and serialized it in Kodansha's Shonen Edge Magazine. After the magazine was discontinued in October 2023, the series was moved to Kodansha's Comic Days website. The author commented on the anime announcement: “I can't believe there's going to be a Chuzenji-sensei anime! I'm honored! I will be looking forward to it as an audience myself.”
Natsuhiko Kyogoku also commented: “A man born from the words I wrote and given a physical form by Aki Shimizu's magic will now move and talk. Obviously he's also young. I couldn't help but be shocked.”
