A poll on the popularity of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters was conducted by Weekly Shonen Jump, receiving over 130,000 votes and listing the fan favorite characters.
To the surprise of many, Tanjiro, despite being the character with the most screen time, ranked far from first place. His younger sister Nezuko didn't even appear in the top 10.

Giyuu appears second. He is introduced as a serious and stoic character, later revealed to be the Water Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps. His tragic past and the loss of friends and family add depth to his character. He is also heavily involved in the final arc of Demon Slayer, facing Akaza alongside Tanjiro.
Third place goes to Muichiro Tokito, who lost his parents and twin brother. He is the youngest Pillar in history and a very important character in the final arc.
