This OAV gives you two episodes that tie into the story of the series and three great bonus episodes. The first episode gives you the story of the World's computer system being infected and the attempts to kill Touma. When the episode ends, we don't know who is behind this conspiracy, it's just a theory. However, since the first episode ends with a two-week quarantine on the planet, this gives Yuuri and Kei plenty of time to have some other adventures on the planet.
The ghost story and the conman story were pretty boring. I did enjoy the flower girl story though. And then the series switches back to the main story with a “Oh yeah. This is what’s infecting the system.” Unfortunately, we still don’t know who’s behind all of this and we don’t really know why. Hmmmm, why do I feel like I wasted 2.5 hours of my life if not counting the time spent taking screenshots and writing this review? On the plus side, Yuri doesn’t creep me out like she did in the first OAV.
In short
It's not bad enough to “avoid”, but it's really not good enough to “rent” it (although I did rent it to watch). The Japanese should have stuck with the original series and left this remake alone.
