Dan Da Dan will be released this October. Netflix and Crunchyroll have both picked up the show adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s mystery science fiction manga.
The manga began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in 2021 and has 12 tankoubon volumes as of December 2023. Viz Media describes the plot as follows:
Momo Ayase has an unusual friendship with her schoolmate UFO Fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that cannot be said out loud. While Momo believes in souls, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Meanwhile, her new friend thinks exactly the opposite. To solve the problem, the two set out to prove each other wrong—Momo to a UFO hot spot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and strange spirits and horned aliens?
