Netflix and Crunchyroll began streaming on Thursday the same-day English dub of Yukinobu Tatsu's DAN DA DAN television anime series, “occult mystery battle & romantic comedy.”

The English dub of the anime debuted at Anime NYC on August 24.
The series premieres in Japan on Thursday on TBS and MBS's Super Animeism TURBO programming block. Netflix is streaming the anime worldwide and Crunchyroll is also streaming the series. GKIDS has acquired theatrical, videogram and digital trading rights.
Fūga Yamashiro (Assistant Director Tatami Time Machine Blues) is directing the anime at Science SARU, and Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan The Final Season, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho 100) is supervising and writing the scripts of the series. Composer kensuke ushio (Chainsaw Man, DEVILMAN crybaby, Liz and the Blue Bird) is composing the music. Naoyuki Onda (Mobile Suit GTA Hathaway, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc) designed the characters and Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) designed the aliens and supernatural entities.
Hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts performed the opening theme song “Otokone” and ZUTOMAYO performed the ending theme song “TAIDADA”.

This is the story of Momo, a high school girl. comes from a family of mediums and her classmate is Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescued Okarun from being bullied, they started talking. However, an argument occurs between them because Momo believes in ghosts but denies the existence of aliens and Okarun believes in aliens but denies the existence of ghosts.
To prove to each other what they believe is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been discovered and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, each encountered paranormal activities beyond comprehension. Amid these difficult situations, Momo awakens her hidden powers and Okarun gains the power of the curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love also begins!?

DAN DA DAN: First Encounter, the theatrical release of the first three episodes, earned an estimated $1,005,531 during its limited-time run in the United States from Friday to Sunday. DAN DA DAN: First Encounter also has a limited release in Asia on August 31 and in Europe on September 7. Screenings expand to more than 50 countries and regions, including Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Africa until mid-September.
The first six episodes of the anime were leaked in August.
Tatsu serialized the manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service, and Shueisha published the 16th compiled book volume on Friday. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and will release the ninth volume on October 15.
