Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced on Monday that they have acquired North American theatrical and global select rights to the animated film SPY×FAMILY Code: White and will open the film in North America in 2024. The companies will also screen the film in Latin America, Australia/New Zealand and select territories in Europe, including: Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Nordics, Portugal , Spain and Switzerland. Original manga creator Tatsuya Endō is credited as the original author and original character design for the film, and also supervised the film. WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks continue to produce animation for the film. Takashi Katagiri will direct the film and Ichiro Okouchi is writing the script. Kazuaki Shimada is the character designer and Kana Ishida is the supporting character designer. Kyoji Asano is the animation director and also the person who drew the above image. The film’s new cast includes Tomoya Nakamura as Dmitri, Kento Kaku as Luka, Banjou Ginga as Snijder and Shunsuke Takeuchi as Type F.
The anime’s second season premiered on October 7 on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. The anime is also showing on other channels. Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Mobile Suit GTA UC, Rurouni Kenshin, Getbackers, 2019 Dororo) will return to direct the second part at WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks. Takahiro Harada will also return as assistant director. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Mobile Suit Granada: The Witch From Mercury) is the new series’ script supervisor, replacing Furuhashi. The series’ assistant script supervisors included Daishiro Tanimura and Ayumu Hisao. Shueisha is publishing the manga in English on its MANGA Plus service. Viz Media added the manga to its app as part of its Shonen Jump subscription in September 2019. The company is also publishing the manga in print.
The manga inspired a March-May 2023 stage musical adaptation.
