The official website of Butareba: The Story of a Man Who Turned into a Pig, Takuma Sakai’s Heat the Pig Liver (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Hiro) television anime series, announced on Friday that the second anime episode nine was delayed, one day before its scheduled broadcast. Currently, the episode is set to air on December 9 (instead of this Saturday, December 2) to maintain quality. This week, television stations will re-air episode 8.
The anime premiered on October 7 on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV and BS11, before airing on YTV, CBC TV and AT-X.
In the isekai story, if you pass out while eating raw pork liver, you will be reincarnated as a pig in a fantasy world and embark on an adventure with a kind girl named Jess, who can read get everyone’s thoughts. That’s exactly what happens to a normal otaku with no abilities or talents, except for being reincarnated as a pig.
Masayuki Takahashi (assistant director of Higehiro, Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon ) is directing anime production at project number 9. Deko Akao (Higehiro, Komi Can’t Communication, Flying Witch) is directing following the film’s script and Susumu Watanabe (Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!, Yōjo Shachō R) is designing the characters. Kenichiro Suehiro (Cells at Work!, Goblin Slayer, Re:ZERO-Starting Life in Another World-) and MAYUKO (Cells at Work!) theme song are composing the music.
Sakai launched the novel series with illustrations by Asagi Tōsaka (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, Girly Air Force) in March 2020, after winning gold (actually second place) in the Award The 26th Dengeki novel in 2019. Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint is publishing the novel in print.
Minami launched the ongoing manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in August 2020.
