Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Episode 12 Review-The Master
Surprisingly enough, I’m going to start this review by giving this season of Bleach the biggest criticism I’ve made of this season so far—the show was smart to air two episodes together. each other in this case. If any of these episodes had aired individually, and if we had had a week to discuss the events of one of them, we would have easily had the worst episode of the series. this new year. Both of these episodes have their own problems, which I will discuss next.

First up, Episode 12. This is a very interesting episode, covering the aftermath of Zero Squad’s transformation to stop Yhwach and his Sternritters. However, it does have some of the more glaring examples of pendulum storytelling that is starting to plague the show more and more with each passing episode. One side will win, and then the other side will exert an inexplicable power, and this will repeat until we have a winner in the battle. Battles are not decided on who is stronger or faster but instead on who has more tricks.
Next up is Episode 13. This is a much more hyped premiere than Episode 12, for reasons I can’t reveal in good faith because of the No Spoiler Rule. It’s a great time until it ends at 17 minutes, just when you think a really big twist is about to hit our screens. There isn’t even a side story ending that could affect the next part of the story. It’s just Kon and his antics retelling some of the earlier scenes in this incredibly low-effort section.

I’m sure there were at least 10 different scenes that were cut from the Manga before this episode that could have used time instead of this one, and this speaks to the showrunners having poor storyboarding. This wouldn’t be too much of a problem if the show followed the usual super-episode format, meaning 40 minutes of content with a single intro and outro. Instead, the show aired them separately, as Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Episode 13 was very short for that reason.
However, other than that, the content of these episodes is great. Some absolutely phenomenal storytelling and character writing built around meaningful battles and newly revealed abilities from characters that demonstrated how much of themselves they had invested in their survival. at theirs. Squad Zero’s powers are unlike anything we’ve seen on the show before and any one of them could easily hold the power to destroy the very world the show was built on and I think that that was amazing. I’m always Team Oh-Etsu Nimaiya, no questions asked.
Verdict
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Episode 12 and Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 13 worked well as the episodes complemented each other and a good ending to the season but couldn’t stand out as episodes on their own.
