Recently, the Dengeki Online portal shared the results of its Summer 2024 anime popularity survey (July – September), conducted from August 9 to 18.
This survey focused on anime that began streaming and distribution starting in July 2024. The survey results revealed some interesting surprises, especially the romance genre taking the top spot on the chart.
Although a number of romance anime have been promised to dominate the market before the summer season began, no one is sure which one will win over the audience. Among the romance anime released this season, the names that stand out in fans' predictions are 'Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian', '2.5 Dimensional Seduction', 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!', and 'Senpai is an Otokonoko'.
Not only did these anime make it into the Top 10, but they also created a huge debate among fans about which one should take the top spot.
