Blue Lock Season 2 episode 7 review: Today's episode of Blue Lock Season 2 or Blue Lock vs U-20 Japan or ブルーロック VS. U-20 JAPAN would be good if we pretended the animation wasn't bad. Read on to know how the episode plays out.
Summary of episode 6 of Blue Lock Season 2
The first half of the episode mainly focuses on setting the stage for the big match between the U-20 Team and Blue Lock. Right off the bat, we know that Shidou won't be in the starting lineup, which makes sense—if Sae wants to earn captain Oliver's respect, he needs to prove himself first.
The Blue Lock players are eager to make their mark as this is their first real chance to show off their skills to the world. To date, they are nobodies, have no real reputation, and the audience's disdain reflects this. They view the Blue Lock team as a group of “high school losers” who just happen to have the opportunity to compete against a star like Sae.
It's in the second half of the episode that the real excitement begins. Top notch sound design; The background music creates tension perfectly and keeps you interested in the match. The realistic roar of the crowd and the atmosphere of the stadium give you the feeling of watching a real football match.
Review episode 7 of Blue Lock season 2
After Oliver stopped Goal, the momentum shifted in favor of the U20 team as they controlled the situation quite well. Besides Oliver, there are other players like Darai, Neru and Niou who are quite good at defending and they make sure to control their objectives. Their successful move created a quartet of impenetrable iron walls, denying the Blue Lock players a chance to score their first goal.
Needless to say, Sae Itoshi springs into action and tries to get the ball towards the far post. Blue Lock's defenders also fought quite well in stopping the mighty Sae, but he was just too good. Fortunately, U-20's first chance to score was blocked because of Gagamaru's inhuman reflexes. But fate was not kind to the Blue Lock team when Sae, who was supposed to be a midfielder, decided to take charge himself and scored a spectacular goal.
From the audience's reaction, you can tell how much faith they have in Sae. He is the star of the show, and Isagi realizes that they are only there to make him look better. Surprisingly, his negative train of thought was stopped when Rin ordered him to look only at him because he would be the one to turn the cheers into wailing at the end of the show.
Today's episode had its fair share. of surprising moments and intense movements. Both teams played excellently, but the difference in experience at Blue Lock was palpable. However, we must not forget that Blue Lock is made up of a group of selfish people who are strikers at heart and only play their position because the rules say so. Therefore, it is too early to decide the fate of the game.
Verdict
Every time I want to look past the horrifying animation, it becomes an impossible task as it is clearly visible before our eyes. These scenes would have been absolutely spectacular if they had been animated properly, but now it looks as if a series of moving images were stitched together with a few edits here and there. But every week, there's nothing we can do but complain, and that's the reality of this season that we'll have to accept.
