The long-awaited Attack on Titan anime finale has finally hit Crunchyroll, literally, as the streaming platform’s website is currently down. The episode premiered about 9 hours ago in Japan, set to release at 5pm PST with English subtitles. The Crunchyroll website is currently having difficulty loading and the apps are not working and displaying the message “Sorry, something went wrong”. For early access users, this episode is loading well.
This isn’t the first time Attack on Titan has crashed Crunchyroll: a similar situation happened to both Crunchyroll and Funimation in January 2022 when Attack on Titan Season 2 finally premiered. The final installment, licensed as Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters Part 2, marks the end of the 10-year adaptation. Hajime Isayama was involved in choreographing the finale, as revealed earlier this week.
Crunchyroll describes the final season’s plot as:
The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to destroy all who threaten Eldia, he leads an army of massive, unstoppable Titans towards Marley. Now, a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies are scrambling to stop his deadly mission, the only question is can they stop him?
