The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has entered its final phase but several questions remain unanswered, including: Is Sukuna a distant relative of Yuuji? If so, what kind of relationship do Sukuna and Itadori have?
Even though the series is coming to an end, Gege-sensei still hasn’t really given a concrete answer about Sukuna’s lineage.
For quite some time now, Yuuji, the son of the main sadistic villain, Kenjaku, was somehow speculated and theorized to be of Sukuna’s lineage.
Itadori Yuuji and Sukuna not only have the same hair color, but also have more complex similarities to each other.
What if Sukuna and Itadori are related? Below are some theories supported by evidence scattered throughout Gege-sensei’s manga. These pieces of evidence will help us determine whether Itadori Yuuji is a descendant of Ryomen Sukuna.

Strange similarities
The most important evidence that Sukuna is a distant relative of Itadori is their appearance.
Sukuna has the iconic pink hair, belonging to the Itadori family. Well, not just Itadori, but also his father, Jun Itadori, and his grandfather, Wasuke Itadori.
Not only are their hair colors similar, but their facial structures also have some similarities. Although Sukuna has reached his maximum potential as of chapter 237 of the series, he still retains his original form.
After Sukuna transferred from Itadori’s body to Megumi’s body, he clearly changed vessels, but then again, he did it. retains her original form by suppressing Megumi’s soul.
Even Sukuna’s original form has pink hair, similar to Itadori’s bloodline.
Souls are identical
Sukuna and Yuji have identical souls. People might think it could be a coincidence, but looking back at chapter 22, Gege-sensei’s evidence is different. In chapter 22, Mahito explains the soul is the building block of humans, forming the body.
Considering Sukuna was a solitary individual who needed a vessel to regain his original form, his soul was certainly different from the others.
Sukuna’s soul is inside Yuuji’s body, completely under the Demon’s control Temple.
At the beginning of the series, when Mahito tried to appease Itadori’s soul, he also accidentally touched Sukuna’s soul.
This sends Mahito into pure terror, as Sukuna himself warns him not to be impatient with the boy’s soul.
When Itadori entered his consciousness, he encountered Sukuna’s soul inside his body. As mentioned above, everyone’s soul is different, but Sukuna’s soul is completely similar to Itadori’s soul. The only difference is the marks on their bodies.
What did Gege-Sensei confirm?
Gege-sensei is known for their eccentric storylines and leaving behind mysterious evidence for their fans to theorise about.
Although Gege-sensei has not confirmed anything about Itadori and Sukuna’s relationship, he has left little hints for fans. Since the beginning of the series until now, fans have loved to theorize about Itadori and Sukuna’s relationship.
In addition to theory, Gege-sensei also deliberately drew Sukuna and Itadori on specific unique illustration pages together. This always causes a stir on social media among the fan community and never fails to surprise people.

Last but not least, all of these are just fan theories and should not be taken lightly. Sooner or later Gege-sensei will give us a reasonable explanation about the relationship between Itadori and Sukuna.
