The Sakamoto Days anime has revealed a new visual of the main character to celebrate 50,000 followers on its official X/Twitter account. TMS Entertainment is animating the film adaptation, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2025. The film will stream on Netflix.
Masaki Watanabe is directing the anime, with Taku Kishimoto writing the series script. Yo Moriyama is designing the characters and Yuto Suzuki is writing the script. Previously announced cast includes:

The anime will adapt Yuto Suzuki's Sakamoto Days (stylized as the manga SAKAMOTO DAYS), which has been serialized since 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump. VIZ Media has licensed the Sakamoto Days manga in English, and the series is also available on Shueisha's Manga PLUS platform. The plot is described as follows:
Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary assassin considered the greatest of all time. Bad guys feared him! Assassins revered him! But then one day he gave up, got married, and had kids. He now lives a quiet life as a neighborhood shop owner, but how long can Sakamoto enjoy his retirement before his past catches up with him?
