Cup Noodle continues its tradition of parodying famous works
Nisshin Cup Noodle’s commercials are a series of fun commercials. Often bordering on the absurd, they’re nothing if not memorable, like in 2010 when the instant noodle brand aired a series of commercials that parodied popular songs like Freddie Mercury’s “I Was Born to Love You” and Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Continuing the tradition of parody commercials, Cup Noodles recently released a new commercial that parodied the infamous 2010 El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron E3 trailer.

The Cup Noodle X (formerly Twitter) account revealed the new El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron parody ad on September 3. The post included a 53-second video that combined the regular and premium versions of the ad, along with the caption (roughly translated) “Enoch, are you sure that’s enough Cup Noodle?” and the hashtag “El Shaddai.”

Enoch, are you sure you have enough Cup Noodles?
The YouTube channel Cup Noodle also uploaded the video on the same day. Surprisingly, Cup Noodle went further into the parody in the video description, quoting the opening of the El Shaddai: Ascension of Metatron E3 trailer. Of course, since it's a parody, a few lines have been changed to reflect that the video is a Cup Noodle ad. The description reads:
Let me tell you a story.
It happened 360,000 years ago… not 14,000 years ago.
But what is time anyway? For me it seems like yesterday. For you, it might be tomorrow.
Someone chose Regular Cup Noodles instead of Premium Cup Noodles.
His name is… Enoch.
Even then he didn't let anyone tell him what to do.
Not even me.
That was a pretty good ad.
