The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series has long been one of the most iconic and classic brands over the years. There have been many games that have tried to develop in the GTA way and achieved remarkable success, of which Sleeping Dogs is a typical example. And now, it could be The Precinct.
For those who don’t know, The Precinct is a top-down action game that is being compared a lot to the GTA series because of its similarities. The game’s plot revolves around rookie cop Nick Ordell Jr. and here, players will have to try to maintain order instead of causing chaos like what GTA requires us to do. In simple terms, this game is being dubbed as the police version of GTA. Currently, the game has its own page on Steam but some bad news has just come to fans of this project.
Instead of being released on August 15 as previously planned, The Precinct has been postponed due to some obstacles. The developers said that they want to provide the highest quality game experience for those who are waiting. That is also the main reason why instead of August 15, The Precinct will only be released on Steam this fall. To compensate gamers, a short trailer for The Precinct has also been provided and sheds light on quite a bit about the game's gameplay mechanics. There are some elements quite similar to GTA such as gunfights, driving and flying helicopters along with some early scenes of the game, when the main character has just failed a mission and the sheriff announced that he would send him back to the academy.
The Precinct was announced in May of this year and is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Currently, the game does not have a new expected release date.
