Dragon Ball Super’s 10 baseball episodes are hilarious chaos
Episode 70, “Challenge from Champa! This time it’s a baseball game!”
Dragon Ball Super’s baseball episode is perhaps the pinnacle of humor in the series, as it pits Champa’s Universe 6 team against Beerus’ Universe 7 team, with a few characters like Vegeta switching positions. to balance the teams. It’s clear that many Z Fighters don’t understand how sports work at all, leading to silly moments like attacking the ball with Ki blasts and leaving craters on the sports field.
It’s a fun romp through and through and this episode is a fun twist on the classic baseball episode that so many anime reference. The episode also gives poor Yamcha a rare chance to shine, as he’s the only one who truly understands how baseball works, after being a star player since Dragon Ball Z.
9 Master Roshi proves he is still a powerhouse
Episode 105, “Brave Battle! Master Roshi’s Flame of Glory!”
Master Roshi seemed like an odd choice for the Tournament of Power team, but this episode allowed him to prove that he’s truly earned his spot. In this episode, Roshi fights against three different members of the Universe 4 team, one of whom is a female alien preying on Roshi’s weakness for women. However, Roshi is able to control himself for once and even earns Beerus’s respect due to the quality of his fighting and the almost sacrificial sacrifice he makes for victory.
As a character who was essentially sidelined throughout most of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, many fans of the original Dragon Ball were excited to see Master Roshi get a chance to become relevant. again, and his contributions were crucial to the team’s eventual victory in the Tournament of Power.
8. Golden Frieza’s attack on Earth ends in an explosive way
Episode 27, “The Earth Explodes?! Kamehameha is decisive!”
This episode features the climax of the Golden Frieza arc, the ‘F’ Resurrection film adaptation for the series. It features a particularly awesome fight between Vegeta and Frieza that surprisingly ends with the Earth being destroyed. It also marked a turning point for the relationship between Beerus, Whis, and the Z Fighters, as he allowed Whis to go back in time and give Goku a chance to save the planet. Goku is able to rush Frieza and finish him off quickly, and actually learns a little lesson about playing against dangerous opponents like Frieza.
The Golden Frieza arc ends up being important to the series as a whole, especially with Frieza’s unexpected final return as an ally in the Tournament of Power. This is also an important stage for Gohan, urging him to contact Piccolo and start training again, to have enough strength to protect his family in the future.
7 The battle between the gods of Beerus and Goku ends in dramatic fashion
Episode 11, “Do your best, Lord Beerus! Battle of the Gods”
Episode 11 similarly featured the climax of a film adaptation, this time the fight between Beerus and Goku at the end of Battle of Gods. Goku wields the full power of the Super Saiyan God for the first time, surprisingly standing up to the God of Destruction. Of course, Beerus still possesses much greater power and can overpower Goku; However, the Saiyan still earned Beerus’ respect, causing him to bring out his full power for the next phase of the fight.
While this is not the end of the fight between Goku and Beerus, it is arguably the climax, as Goku reaches the point of exhaustion but still stands up. Goku’s ability to always get back up and keep fighting is part of what makes fans love him, and this episode is a perfect example of why.
6 Goku displays one of his highest power levels ever
Episode 39, “A ‘Time Skip’ Counterattack Has Been Developed? This is Goku’s new move!”
The Tournament of Destroyers arc saw the introduction of Dragon Ball Super’s multiverse for the first time, pitting the series’ heroes against a new set of enemies from Parallel Universe 6. This episode tells the story of Goku’s battle against Hit, the strongest member of Universe 6. The team’s Time Skip ability caused trouble for Goku. Goku uses the Super Saiyan Blue transformation combined with the Kaioken technique, increasing his power to levels never seen before in the series.
Time Skip is a fairly new skill in the Dragon Ball world, making the fight very fresh. Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue was still fairly new at this point and this battle showed that Goku was able to push the limits of this transformation far beyond what anyone could have expected.
5 Goku Black Reveals the Unattainable Ultimate Saiyan Transformation
Episode 56, “Rematch with Goku Black! Enter Super Saiyan Rose”
This episode marks the second encounter with Goku Black, and features a massive battle between Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and the body-snatching villain. Vegeta initially fares well, but that’s when Goku Black reveals his new power – a Saiyan transformation only available to a truly divine being, Super Saiyan Rosé. With it, Goku Black is able to take down Vegeta, even in Super Saiyan Blue, and prove that he has become their most dangerous opponent.
The episode also reveals that Zamasu is affiliated with Goku Black, although the actual reveal of what’s going on with Goku Black will still have to wait a little longer. It’s immediately obvious why Future Trunks needs some serious help solving this problem, and at this point, it’s far from certain that Goku and Vegeta can even handle the divine threat. that they have to face or not.
4 Beerus proves his strength against Goku, but also his mercy
Episode 14, “This is all the power I have! Arrangement between the gods”
The Battle of Gods adaptation ends Goku once again pushes himself to the limits of his newfound power, showing off an impressive performance against the God of Destruction. However, even this last effort is not enough to win and Goku plummets to Earth, having spent all his strength blocking one final attack from Beerus. While Beerus acts as if he still intends to destroy the Earth, he “falls asleep” and is chased away by Whis, who teases him about pretending to be asleep to escape his threat.
This episode establishes Beerus as a recurring character from this point forward, which will have a major impact on the story as Goku and Vegeta grow closer to him, and even end up training with Beerus and Whis, reach new heights. This is such an important episode for the upcoming series that it cannot be missed.
3 Goku unlocks Ultra Instinct for the first time
Episode 110, “Goku shines! The new super instinct of the awakened one!!”
Any episode where Goku achieves a new transformation is sure to be epic, and that holds true for this episode, in which Goku harnesses the Ultra Instinct Sign for the first time. Having survived a Spirit Bomb exploding at close range, Goku emerges with a strange new power at work and actually repels Jiren for the first time in the Tournament of Power arc. Whis and Beerus were extremely surprised to see Goku using a power that even gods could hardly achieve.
While more of a tease than an actual use of Ultra Instinct, the moment Goku returns with this new power is extremely exciting for fans. The action in this episode was great and the animation felt right for the time. Goku has new heights to reach and if anything can motivate him to reach them, it is this tournament.
2 Vegito returns for an epic battle
Episode 66, “The showdown! The magical power of indomitable warriors”
While fighting against the merged Zamasu, Goku and Vegeta decide to do the same and wear the Potara Earrings, causing them to merge into Vegito for the first time in over 20 years of real time. That moment alone would have given this episode a high rating, but Vegito could put up a great fight against Zamasu, with a fusion using the power of Super Saiyan Blue. However, Vegito wasn’t the only one showing off, as the final blow was appropriately delivered by Future Trunks, allowing him to save his own future.
Vegito is a fan-favorite character and whenever he appears, it is sure to excite viewers. Having the two warriors unite against each other is a smart move and the perfect reason for Vegito to return.
1 Goku Vs. Jiren is the epitome of Dragon Ball Super
Episode 130, “The Greatest Match of All Time! The ultimate battle for survival!”
Dragon Ball Super’s penultimate episode sees Goku, now in control of this new Ultra Instinct power, confront Jiren, with the fate of both universes at stake.
