Well, we’re back to Konoha Akisato’s boring routine because she really wants to go back to the Heisei era, the golden age of bishoujo games where it wasn’t just about timeless works of art but also has a compelling story.
But seriously, why did Alcohol Soft disappear from the limelight and have their beloved two-story building demolished to make way for the office tower where Blue Bell resides? Of course, Konoha will have to find a way to return to the past.
By the way, it seems like Konoha’s eroge collection is disappearing. Is it true that every time Akisato changes the past, some of the eroge games she collected disappear? Man, I hope Konoha won’t mess up the past too much.
But first, she needs to chase the dog when it takes away a boxed copy of Kizuato, a slasher visual novel developed by Leaf and published by Aquaplus. Of course, I was worried that the disc might become unreadable after the stray dog’s difficult trip.
However, it appeared that Kizuato’s boxed copy was still intact when Konoha Akisato opened the box and a beam of light shot straight into the sky. Well everyone, it looks like Akisato is traveling to the past again.
On the other hand, it seems like her return to the past did not go well when Konoha plunged into the swimming pool. Now is the time for Akisato to know whether she will return to 1992 or not?
In fact, the local swimming club told Konoha that the year was 1996, the same year Kizuato was released. It seems like she can’t go back to 1992 or even 1993.
Anyway, the important thing is that Konoha Akisato went back to the past because she wanted to see her friends at Alcohol Soft again.
And now that she’s returned to the past, it’s time for Konoha to show off something amazing to the staff at Alcohol Soft through her tablet.
Except that her tablet was broken after diving into the pool earlier. Oh Akisato, you’ve embarrassed yourself again!
Now, let’s explore Akihabara circa 1996, where 3D graphics became popular thanks to the launch of the Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation, and Nintendo 64. Of course, Konoha wasn’t into console gaming when she was into it. bishoujo games were not only released on the venerable NEC PC-98 but also Windows 95.
Anyway, this is Konoha Akisato where she meets a shy girl named Touya Yamada, who is hesitant to enter a game store called Messe Sanoh, which is filled with erotic visual novels of the period .
But thanks to Konoha, Touya mustered up the courage to buy two visual novels, Pia Carrot e Youkoso! and Kizuato.
I hope Touya Yamada will enjoy playing these classic visual novels. Heck, one day she might be inspired to become a creator.
Now, let’s move on to the next scene where Kaori Shimoda and Meiko Uehara tell Konoha Akisato to look for Mamoru Rokuda because he’s been in development lately.
Actually, the truth is that he refused to take on programming duties because Alcohol Soft’s next game project titled “Shizuku” would be an exclusive title for Windows 95. Basically, it was PC-98 or bust when Konoha noticed Mamoru getting excited over NEC’s flagship computer.
And speaking of Konoha, she’s captured Mamoru-kun so she’ll do anything to get him back to Alcohol Soft. Come on, he’s the only programmer on the team and they don’t have enough time to find someone else.
Unfortunately, Mamoru Rokuda is a stubborn guy who insists on his undying commitment to the PC-98 platform. Heck, he even challenged Konoha Akisato to identify the ports of his beloved PC-98 computer, in which Konoha was quite puzzled.
Um Mamoru-kun, I think you should check out the NEC PC-9821 where it’s backwards compatible with PC-98 software and it can also run Windows 95. Come on, you have the money to buy a new model!
Now, let’s go back to Alcohol Soft, where despite being rejected by Mamoru-kun, Konoha won’t give up as she planned at his apartment. Well, standing in front of the door like a stalker when she will be carrying a sleeping bag.
By the way, Akisato saw the CGI of Alcohol Soft’s latest game and she loved the art style. Of course, their efforts would be wasted without a programmer on board.
Anyway, Konoha went to Mamoru’s apartment where she stayed for the night. Then I worried that she might get thrown out or some bastard might attack her.
Meanwhile, it seems that Mamoru Rokuda took a look at Akisato’s tablet and although it is now damaged due to water exposure, he is still curious about what the future holds.
Of course, his beloved PC-98 has no future because it is outdated. Actually, I think Mamoru should keep one because it will be valuable in the vintage computer market.
The next day, it appears that Konoha Akisato made an emergency call to inform Meiko Uehara that Mamoru Rokuda was missing. This is serious, but I wonder what really happened to-
Oh, Mamoru-kun went to a store and collected some cardboard boxes. Okay, it’s not serious at all but really, I’m curious what he’s going to do with those boxes.
Now, let’s move to Tokyo Big Sight, where Comiket 50 was held there. And this is Alcohol Soft, where they are selling doujinshi to make some extra money.
Even though Konoha Akisato didn’t find Mamoru Rokuda, it was funny to see scriptwriter Kiyoshi Gomikawa do the famous Gendou Ikari pose. It’s not surprising since Neon Genesis Evangelion was quite popular in 1996.
Meanwhile, it looks like someone walked into the Alcohol Soft booth while the person was wearing a costume made of cardboard.
Said person happened to be a fan of the NEC PC-98 as he lamented the ultimate demise of his beloved computer. Wait, isn’t Mamoru Rokuda wearing some kind of PC-98 mannequin!?
Well then, I must say that Mamoru-kun is in the stage of accepting that NEC’s beloved computer will be phased out in the future.
Anyway, Comiket 50 is over and Alcohol Soft has broken even with their doujinshi. Oh yeah, this is Konoha Akisato where she gave away a copy of “Shake! Shake!” with Touya Yamada.
You know something, it’s “Shake! The doujinshi they publish may be related to Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Meanwhile, Mamoru Rokuda lookalike decides to help them on the condition that Alcohol Soft’s latest game “Shizuku” will be released on both PC-98 and Windows 95. Glad they met in the middle.
One last thing, it seems Mamoru has somewhat repaired Konoha’s tablet despite not having enough battery to power up her device.
Regardless, Konoha’s Tablet is working and Mamoru-kun is truly amazed at his work of art. Of course, the art style differs greatly from this era.
Sadly, it looks like Konoha Akisato will have to return to the future now that her role in helping Alcohol Soft has come to an end. Man, I wish she would remember the past again!
But as for Mamoru Rokuda, it seems like he’s starting to become aware of Konoha Akisato’s time-traveling hijinks, but he’ll have to wait for Konoha to return at a later date.
With that said, Konoha did it again to save Alcohol Soft from another crisis, but I’m worried that her intervention will change the course of history to the point where some companies might stop existed earlier. Anyway, see you next time!
