Whether it's anime, manga, card games, or another form of media, the most fun part of Yu-Gi-Oh! The franchise is easily its iconic monsters. Now, one of the many dragons in the series is getting a terrifying new look, thanks to a collector's product line from Bandai.
The Rising Figure Standard Amplifier line gets a new entry in the release of Ra's Winged Dragon. One of the three Phantom Gods in Yu-Gi-Oh!, the monster himself has a long history with the franchise. Now fans can get their hands on top-notch entertainment through one of Bandai's launch figure lines.

Figure-Rise Standard's Winged Dragon of Ra figure set is ready to duel
Boasting a regal and edgy look, the Winged Dragon of Ra figure set from Bandai's Standard Amplifier line brings the duel to fans' shelves. At 30 cm (~11″) tall and with a wingspan of 40 cm (15″), this mystical beast looks like something out of its trading card counterpart — and a lot scarier, too. The figure includes many detailed parts, such as the jewel on top of the head and the serrated mouth (complete with moving tongue). It can even surround itself with wings, like the iconic “spherical mode” of the Winged Dragon of Ra seen in Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. Even with this level of detail and precision, the finished model set remains highly poseable, allowing collectors to display the figure in truly impressive ways.
Helping achieve this for the two-tone gold statue are multiple articulated parts and a display stand, with the Winged Dragon of Ra also coming with stickers to complete its impressive look. The Divine Beast himself debuted in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters card game in 2000 and since then there have been many new versions of this card released. Bandai's Standard Amplifier line also features several figure sets representing monsters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, as well as from the Digimon multimedia series and several other franchises. These collections are often aimed at older fans and bring different characters and concepts to life at quite affordable prices. Now available for pre-order, Winged Dragon of Ra retails for 8,470 yen (about $52 USD) and will be released in October 2024.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The card game is 25 years old
Yu-Gi-Oh! The entire franchise began in 1996 as a manga by Kazuki Takahashi, with an initial premise dealing with all kinds of games. One of these was Duel Monsters (also known as Magic & Wizards in the manga), a trading card game that eventually overtook the series and became its central concept. The real-life adaptation of the card game is now 25 years old, with the trading card series in particular still competing with franchises like Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Not only is it played by generations of fans worldwide, but many of the rarest cards command high prices among collectors.
Yu-Gi-Oh! The 2024 World Championship has now begun, with the first round of the trading card game tournament starting on June 11 and the finals taking place in Seattle on September 7-8. Beyond the cards , Yu-Gi-Oh! New manga and anime continue to introduce more new cards and monsters. The latest of these is Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!, which began in 2022 and currently has over 100 episodes. Its manga iteration ran from 2022 to 2024, recently ending with four collected tankobon volumes.
