Surprisingly, all the heroes survived, continued to live long lives, and helped the world move towards peace. However, the post-credits scene shows that this peace will not last.
Warning: SPOILERS for Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Part 2’s final episode Attack the giant was just released, and as expected, not all of the series’ main characters survived the epic final battle. In addition to the obvious difficulty of traveling across the world and defeating the Colossal Titans, the heroes must also confront their friend Eren, now determined to destroy the world beyond Paradis Island.
Hajime Isayama is famous for killing off famous characters to advance the story, and previous seasons have seen the heartbreaking deaths of some of the most beloved characters like Erwin and Hange. Given the scale of the battle against Eren, many fans expected a similar outcome, but surprisingly, the main cast’s casualties were not as high as expected.
The main character meets his end
Eren is unwilling to negotiate a surrender, and the only option left is to kill him. The scouts enter the battlefield, all except Armin and Mikasa giving up hope of a truce and resolving to take him to rest. In a surprising turn of events, Mikasa was the one who took Eren’s life. This is a worthy death for Eren, because the person he loves the most is the one who stopped his crazy plans. It is not common for the main character of a series to die, but this has happened in many different anime series. This was the biggest and most shocking death in the episode but was more or less predicted after Eren wiped out 80% of the world’s population.
Then, meet up with your friends one last time in the Road dimension, Eren reveals that his plan is to turn Armin and the others into heroes for defeating him and gaining enough respect to defend Paradis Island. He also reveals that everything that happens is predetermined by his vision of the future, and that his goal is to free Ymir Fritz from her love for King Fritz, thereby ending the Titan threat. .
Zeke accepts his fate
Zeke was an epic character in the series and someone who played a key role in how events unfolded, but he was forced to leave. Eren used him to trigger Rumbling, and as long as he was alive, more people would die. Even though his death was brutal, he continued to work and became a hero. He surrendered and called Levi, whom he had escaped many times, to come and finish the job. With one swift slash, Levi beheads Zeke and frees himself from the nightmare.
Ymir is freed from her chains
Ymir followed the orders of the Fritz Family for 2000 years until she was finally able to find liberation with Mikasa’s help, leading to the end of the Titan age and the Eldians being unable to become Titans. . Ymir’s story is the saddest one. King Fritz killed her family and everyone she loved, and despite her great power, she was powerless to do anything. It is finally explained why she remained loyal to the king who did such terrible things to her: love. She fell in love with the cruel king and thus obeyed all his descendants. She was finally freed from the curse and found peace.
Mikasa is the main hero of the episode
Mikasa managed to survive the deadly battle, although there were several moments when she and the others were close to death. The thought of killing Eren, the man she grew up with and loved, broke her but Mikasa was able to overcome her emotions and do what must be done for the greater good. With one final push, with the help of Armin and Levi, she entered the jaws of the attacking Titan and severed Eren’s head. She brings Eren’s severed head back to Paradis and buries it in one of his favorite places growing up. She went on to live a long and peaceful life in the district where she grew up.
Levi escaped the jaws of death
Even before the final battle, Levi was in terrible condition and had lost three fingers and an eye. Recovering from an explosion that left him half-dead, he continues to fight through the pain. His contributions are enormous. He kills Zeke, saves Conny, and assists Mikasa in delivering the final blow. Although he survived, he lost the ability to walk and had to use a wheelchair, becoming a volunteer and helping survivors. After years of intense fighting and losing many friends, no one deserves a rest more than Levi Ackerman.
Armin helped in the peace effort
Armin, as the new commander of the Reconnaissance Regiment, has an important task ahead of him. Despite the difficulty of making the decision, he came to the conclusion that Eren’s death was necessary. Although he was once kidnapped by Ymir’s Titans, he was later rescued and transformed into a Colossal Titan to face Eren in his largest and final form. After achieving victory, he became ambassador to the Allied Nations and journeyed to Paradis to finally end the hundred-year conflict. With a long life ahead of him, he is determined to usher in a new era of peace and make amends for his past misdeeds.
Heroes live to see another day
Miraculously, there were no deaths among the remaining members of the Scouts. There were many moments where it seemed like Conny, Reiner, and Pieck were about to die, but they were still able to live on. Annie, Jean, Colt, Gabi and Onyakopon all survived and continued their lives after the incident. Together with Armin, Reiner, Jean, Conny, Pieck and Annie, they became representatives and worked hard to negotiate peace. They are known as the heroes of the Battle between Heaven and Earth.
What seemed like an episode with tragedy turned out to have a happy ending, at least for the main cast. Attack On Titan is known for subjecting its characters to horrific experiences, so the reality is that it all feels very fresh and fans are at peace with the ending, at least until the end. The end credits begin to roll. It turns out that Paradis Island will be bombed into rubble at some point in the future, showing that despite Eren and Armin’s best efforts, the cycle of violence is not over. The final scene resembles the infamous scene in the manga, showing a boy in destroyed Paradis discovering the tree Eren was buried under, implying that he will gain Titan power, thus reigniting the cycle. vicious hatred.
Despite retaining the manga’s controversial ending, final episode of Attack the giant more than expectation and a great ending to one of the best anime of all time.
