The upcoming Undead Girl Murder Farce anime is a clash of cultures as it combines the scariest creatures from across Japan and Europe.
The upcoming Supernatural Murder Mystery Project, which will launch on Crunchyroll on July 5, features an innovative assortment of creatures from multiple cultures, with a focus on Japanese folklore and Europe. The first two episodes firmly establish a world where all these monsters exist simultaneously, with tension between them and humans causing a dangerous society full of prejudice and fear.
Some of the most famous monsters of all time appear in the series. One example is the Vampire, the legendary Eastern European bloodsucker often considered the quintessential classical monster. However, the first episode also displays a set of Japanese-centered demons, including the Oni. These monsters are demonic yokai representing bad luck and violence. In addition, a rare Japanese Yōkai appears in this first episode; Rokurokubi. This terrifying creature takes the form of a woman with a neck that can stretch freely from her body. Even more monsters will appear in the project, such as Werewolves and Zombies.
