XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy's XDefiant ) is a free-to-play first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. XDefiant is released on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S from May 21, 2024. On PC, the game will be released exclusively on Ubisoft Connect.
XDefiant is set in the Ubisoft universe, map locations are based on various locations that have appeared in Ubisoft games, including Tom Clancy, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry… Gamers participate in Fast-paced, team-based multiplayer matches across a variety of maps and game modes.
The game's setting revolves around the battle of factions named “Defiant”, Phantoms (from Ghost Recon), Echelon (from Splinter Cell), Cleaners (from The Division), Libertad (from Far Cry) and DedSec (from Watch Dogs). Each faction has its own abilities and weapons. The skillful combination of each member's attributes is the key to victory for the entire team.
On launch day, XDefiant reached 1 million players within two and a half hours. This milestone makes XDefiant the fastest Ubisoft game to reach 1 million players ever.
