According to statistics of Similarweb, the number of daily users of Threads – Meta’s new social network has reached 49 million accounts. However, as of August 1, Threads had just over 9.6 million daily users, down 80%.
The level of interaction on the platform also dropped sharply compared to the early period. In which, at the peak, users used Threads for an average of 14 minutes a day, but now only 2.3 minutes. Threads user engagement time in the US is higher than average, but not by much, at 20 minutes and 3 minutes, respectively.
Previously, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said that every day Threads has tens of millions of users returning every day that have been expected. Mark Zuckerberg also shared, Threads is in the phase of focusing on improving basic features before promoting and developing the user community.
Threads is the fastest growing platform in app history reaching 100 million subscribers in just 5 days. Threads remains one of the most downloaded apps on both Android and iOS. However, the application still lacks the outstanding features of Twitter such as searching for topics, direct messaging.
Recently, Threads has allowed users to share posts to X. Specifically, when a user clicks the “Share” button on a Threads post, in the option list appears the “Post to X” or ” Tweet” (currently the feature exists in parallel with two names depending on each user account) with the X logo next to it. When clicking select, the user will be redirected to X and can add a caption before clicking the post button.
Experts consider this to be an experimental move by Meta to attract new users to Threads.
