The Dragon Ball Super manga battle between Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo against Cell Max is coming to an end. There will be a grand finale to the upcoming Dragon Ball Super manga chapter, but things may end differently from the movie that was released in theaters.
In chapter 99, the battle against Cell Max almost came to a conclusion when Gohan fired the Special Beam Cannon, destroying the android and winning. Thus, the new chapter released in December will have plenty of time left to reveal other content.
According to V-Jump’s editor, fans should expect the unexpected. In a recent video, Victory Uchida teased that something “unbelievable/unexpected” will happen in the Dragon Ball Super manga next month.
There’s no shortage of possibilities for this surprise as there are still plenty of storylines left unresolved.
The Dragon Ball Super story is getting so close to “End of Z” that we can end chapter 100 by retelling that story. But there’s also the unresolved threat of Black Frieza still lurking. Or maybe the next chapter will have content that continues with the new story about to be told.
Besides “unexpected changes”, Uchida also suggested that there will be “crazy developments” to look forward to. It looks like there will be quite a bit of drama to end chapter 100 of the Dragon Ball Super manga.
Of course, the new Dragon Ball Daima anime is coming in fall 2024, so we could even get a tease of what’s to come, especially since that show’s timeline remains is still a mystery.
