According to the latest announcement from the organizer, the world’s largest game fair – E3 will officially cease operations from this year 2023. ESA President and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis said:
“After more than two decades of hosting an event that serves as a showcase for the U.S. and global video game industry, the Entertainment Software Association has decided to end E3. We would like to thank the manufacturers, sponsoring brands and most of all the community of millions of gamers around the world.
… It’s hard to say goodbye, but this is the time for it to happen. The end of E3 is a new opportunity for bigger events in the gaming industry in the future.”
It is known that E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is one of the largest and most important events in the gaming industry. Held annually, E3 focuses on introducing and showcasing new trends, new game projects, and the most advanced technologies.
E3 was first held in 1995 and is managed by the Game Industry Association (ESA). ESA is an organization responsible for representing the gaming industry. The E3 event is usually held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, United States. However, in some years, E3 may take place in other locations.
The most recent E3 event takes place in the summer of 2023. This is the first event held after 3 years of COVID-19 pandemic. However, this is also the last E3 event to take place before this fair officially stops operating.
